Program Description:
The Arrow Center for Education is a small, nurturing, structured and supportive middle and high school program that provides special education and clinical services to students who are primarily identified as emotionally disturbed. Students with other disabilities, such as PDD and learning disabilities, may be admitted to the program on a case by case basis. The program follows the Maryland State curriculum, and offers three completer choices for graduation with a high school diploma: horticulture, vocational placement in the community, and foreign language. In addition to the core curriculum, the school offers a variety of electives. Positive behaviors are proactively taught and rewarded to increase students' participation in their school program. and in many cases may also have specific learning disabilities or mild intellectual limitations. The curriculum includes English, language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education and electives.
