Program Description:
The Pathways School–Re-Entry at DuVal program provides academic, therapeutic and transition services to high school students in order to facilitate the student’s participation in the mainstream classrooms and activities in Prince George’s County’s DuVal High School. Eligible students will be identified as needing intensive special education and therapeutic services in order to mainstream successfully in public school classes and earn a Maryland high school diploma. The program offers high school course offerings based on the public high school curriculum. Through instruction and therapeutic services, the staff teaches social skills, study skills and academic subjects to help students meet graduation requirements. Students are also afforded the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities with non-disabled peers. Students determined to be eligible for extended school year may attend an ESY program at another Pathways school and have an option to participate in Pathways’ credit recovery ESY program.
