The Arrow Center for Education is a small, nurturing, structured, and supportive middle and high school program that provides special education and clinical services to students who are primarily identified as emotionally disturbed. Students with other disabilities, such as PDD and learning disabilities, may be admitted to the program on a case by case basis. The program follows the Maryland State curriculum, and offers three completer choices for graduation with a high school diploma: horticulture, vocational placement in the community, and foreign language. In addition to the core curriculum, the school offers a variety of electives, including guitar, weight training, drawing, and painting. Positive behaviors are proactively taught and rewarded to increase students' participation in their school program. The school provides several partnership desks for 45 day diagnostic placement, as well as partial transitions to less restrictive environments, such as public school, as appropriate.
Individual, group, and family therapy are integrated into the program design. Speech and language services, physical therapy, occupational therapy
