Program Description : The Baltimore Academy is a 12-month school program serving students with emotional disabilities in grades 6 - 12. Students with secondary conditions such as specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, substance use disorders, physical disabilities, and/or other health impairment also receive special education services. A wide range of instructional and related services are available. Our goal at The Baltimore Academy is to provide sound educational experiences, to ensure a positive learning experience for every student while using state-of-the-art materials and teaching strategies. The Baltimore Academy offers two alternatives for completer sequences, which include Career Research and Development, and Spanish. Another service we provide is an E-Learning program through a partnership with Imagine learning that supports credit recovery. Finally, we strive to prepare students for successful adjustment to future educational placements in less restrictive settings, as we move students toward high school graduation while supporting their overall academic, social emotional, and behavioral needs.
