Program Description : PHILLIPS School ~ Laurel is a 10-month day program serving elementary, middle, and high school students who benefit from a supportive, individualized educational environment. The program is designed for students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning differences who thrive with tailored instruction and therapeutic services outside of a traditional classroom setting. Our goal is to support each student’s academic growth, personal development, and successful transition to a less restrictive setting. Instruction is guided by each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and delivered in small group or individual sessions. High school students can take both credit and noncredit courses aligned with their unique goals, including those working toward a high school diploma. PHILLIPS emphasizes real-world preparation through on- and off-campus work experiences. In fall 2017, we introduced a Culinary Arts and Urban Agriculture program to expand hands-on learning and career readiness opportunities.
