Program Description : Phillips School ~ Laurel is a 10 month day program that offers special education and therapeutic services to elementary, middle and high school students who have such severe emotional, learning and/or behavioral disabilities that they cannot function effectively in a general education environment. The goal for all students is to improve academic skills and modify behavior in order to successfully transition to a less restrictive environment. Academic instruction and related services are provided according to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Instruction and therapy take place in individual or group settings. The high school offers both credit and noncredit courses based on a student’s individual needs. Credit courses prepare students to earn a high school diploma. Phillips offers on and off campus work experiences to prepare for post-secondary success. A culinary arts/urban agriculture program is opening the fall of 2017.
